Welcome to the official Stormchild site
Formed in Bolton, England in 1979, Stormchild used an unusual keyboard-driven approach to their music, setting them apart from the majority of emergent rock bands at the time that became known as The New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Following increased interest in the 21st century, the band reformed to record an album with legendary producer Chris Tsangerides and continue to make music and perform today.
Stormchild's original lineup of Ian Bridge, Geoff Harwood, Neil McCurley, Chris Mitchell and Joe Rodmell recorded the studio album "Lightning Never Strikes Twice" in 2015, over 30 years after the band had originally broken up. Following a successful festival gig, McCurley and Mitchell have recruited new band members to carry on bringing Stormchild's music to audiences live.
